Account, password and security

What it is

The settings of your personal account at ubytora.com. You will find them in the left menu under Settings. There are four tabs: Profile, Security, Notifications and GDPR & data.

Why you need it

So that your account is secure and so that you only get the e-mails you want.

Profile

  1. Open Settings → Profile.
  2. Edit your first name, last name and phone. The phone is optional, we use it for urgent matters.
  3. You upload a photo with the Upload photo button - JPG or PNG up to 2 MB.
  4. Click Save changes.

The e-mail cannot be changed here, it is used for logging in. If you need to change it, write to us.

Password

  1. Open Settings → Security.
  2. Next to Password click Change (or Set, if you log in through Google and do not have a password yet).
  3. Enter your current password, the new password (at least 8 characters) and repeat it.
  4. Confirm with the Change password button.

You reset a forgotten password on the login screen with the Forgot password? link.

Two-factor authentication

When logging in we ask you not only for your password but also for a six-digit code from an app on your phone. Even if somebody finds out your password, they cannot get into your account.

  1. Open Settings → Security.
  2. Next to Two-factor authentication click Activate.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. On your phone open an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password) and scan the code shown.
  5. Type in the six-digit code from the app and click Verify and enable.
  6. Save the backup codes that appear. The Download codes button saves them to a file. If you lose your phone, you log in with one of them - each works only once.

Two-factor authentication cannot be turned on without a password. If you only log in through Google, set a password first.

Logging in through Google

On the same tab you can connect or disconnect Google. If Google is your only way of logging in, the system will not allow disconnecting until you set a password - otherwise you would no longer be able to get into your account.

Active sessions

At the bottom of the Security tab you see a list of the devices you are logged in on. You end any of them with the End button, or all the others at once with the End all other sessions button. This is handy when you have logged in on somebody else's computer.

Notifications

On the Notifications tab you turn individual e-mails on or off:

NotificationWhen it arrives
Payment confirmationAfter every successful subscription payment.
Renewal reminder3 days before the next payment.
Security alertsA login from a new device, a password change.
News and tipsNew features and guides.
Domain statusWhen the website address connects or the certificate expires.
Referral creditWhen you earn new credit from a referral.

Confirm the change with the save button.

Exporting and deleting your data

On the GDPR & data tab:

  • Export my data downloads a complete copy of your personal data (profile, billing details, subscription, properties, logins) in a single file.
  • Delete my account removes the account permanently. You have to cancel your subscription first - without that the system will not allow the deletion. Then, as a safeguard, you have to retype your e-mail into the confirmation field.

Deleting an account cannot be undone.

Common problems

The system will not accept the code from the app. The codes are time-based. Check that your phone has the correct time set (automatically from the network), and try the newest code.

I lost the phone with the authenticator app. Log in with one of your backup codes. If you do not have them, write to us - we will verify your identity another way.

I cannot disconnect Google. Set a password first. Without one you would lose your only way of logging in.

I am not getting any e-mails. Look in the Spam folder and check the Notifications tab to see whether they are switched off.

I want to delete my account but the button will not let me. You have an active subscription. Cancel it first, see Cancelling your subscription.
