Seasonal prices, discounts and restrictions
What it is
Four blocks on the Pricing screen that appear on the Standard plan and above:
| Block | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Seasonal prices | A different price depending on the dates of the stay |
| Long-stay discounts | A lower price per night for a longer stay |
| Minimum stay and arrival days | A minimum number of nights and permitted arrival and departure days |
| Age-based child discounts | Age bands with a discount |
On the Basic plan you see them, but locked.
Why you need it
One price all year round leaves money on the table. In summer and over holidays you can sell at a higher price; out of season, a lower price fills empty rooms instead.
Seasonal prices
How to add a season
- In the left menu open Pricing.
- In the Seasonal prices block click Add season.
- Fill in the Season name - for example "Summer season" or "Christmas and New Year".
- In the Applies to field choose All rooms or a specific room.
- Enter the From date and the To date.
- Choose the Adjustment type:
| Type | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Surcharge / discount (%) | A percentage. It can be negative - for example -15 for an off-season discount. |
| Fixed price / night (€) | A specific amount that replaces the list price. |
- Optionally fill in Weekend Fri/Sat (+%) - a surcharge for Friday and Saturday.
- Click Save season.
What happens when seasons overlap
When two seasons fall on the same day, the order is:
- A season set for a specific room beats a season for all rooms.
- If they are equal, the season with the higher priority wins.
Percentages are always calculated from the list price per night, not one from the other.
Long-stay discounts
A reward for the guest staying longer. It is set as a threshold number of nights.
- In the Long-stay discounts block click Add threshold.
- Fill in From nights - at least 2.
- Choose the type: Discount (%) or Fixed price / night (€).
- Enter the value. A discount has to be between 1 and 100 %.
- Save.
An example: a 7+ night threshold with a 10 % discount, a 14+ night threshold with a 15 % discount.
The discount is evaluated by the total number of nights. If more than one threshold matches, the one most favourable to the guest applies.
It is calculated from the effective price per night, that is after the seasonal adjustment.
Minimum stay and arrival days
More precise rules than those in the Stay rules block.
- In the Minimum stay and arrival days block click Add restriction.
- In the Scope field choose Whole site (default) or a specific season.
- Fill in at least one of:
- Minimum nights
- Allowed arrival days - for example only Friday and Saturday
- Allowed departure days
- Save.
How it works when rules overlap:
- A restriction tied to a season takes precedence over the site-wide one during that season's dates.
- The minimum number of nights is never overwritten. The stricter value from this restriction and from the Stay rules block always applies.
If you do not pick any arrival day, a guest can arrive on any day. The same goes for departure days.
Allowed departure days are used against unsellable gaps - "no departures on Saturday".
Prices for children
- In the Age-based child discounts block turn on the Enable age-based pricing for children toggle.
- Click Add age band.
- Fill in the Band name (for example "Child 0-3"), Age from, Age to and the Discount.
- Add further bands. Typically: 0-3 free, 4-12 half price.
- Click Save children module.
When the module is on, the guest enters the number of children in each band while booking and the room price is reduced automatically.
If you leave Age to empty, the band applies with no upper limit.
With the module enabled you must have at least one named band.
The order it is calculated in
Simplified:
- The list price per night.
- The season adjusts it (a percentage or a fixed price, plus the weekend surcharge).
- The long-stay discount is deducted from the resulting price.
- Child discounts are deducted.
- The fee for extra guests is added.
- The local accommodation fee is added.
The guest sees the resulting breakdown when booking; you see it in the reservation detail.
Common problems
My blocks are locked. They are part of the Standard plan and above.
The season was not applied. Check the dates and whether the season applies to the room you are testing. The "to" date has to be the same as or later than "from".
The long-stay discount was not applied. The threshold has to be at least 2 nights and the stay has to have at least that many nights.
Two discounts applied at once. A season and a long-stay discount do combine - the discount is calculated from the already season-adjusted price. Long-stay discounts do not add up with each other; only the most favourable one applies.
A guest booked a day I did not permit. Check the scope of the restriction. If it applies only to a season, it does not apply outside it.
I shortened a guest's stay and their price per night did not go up. That is how it should be. The originally agreed rate is kept - otherwise shortening the stay would remove the guest's long-stay discount and they would pay more per night.
