Audit log - who changed what
What it is
The Audit log screen in the website administration. An overview of the changes made in the website administration - who changed what and when.
It is part of the Standard plan and above.
Why you need it
When several people work in a team, sooner or later the question comes up: "who changed that price" or "who cancelled that reservation". This answers it.
What is recorded
| Area | Example |
|---|---|
| Reservation | creation, change, cancellation |
| Room | a new room type, an edit, a deletion |
| Pricing | a change of price, seasons, discounts |
| Content | website texts and appearance |
| Gallery | uploading and deleting photos |
| Settings | changes in Settings |
| Review | approval, rejection |
| Promo code | creation, editing |
| Room block | closing and opening dates |
| Point of interest, FAQ, News | content changes |
| iCal | changes to the connection |
Every entry shows who made it, whether it was a creation, an update or a deletion, what it concerned and when it happened.
How to search it
- In the left menu open Audit log.
- In the Filter field choose an area, or leave it on All.
- The Load more button pulls in older entries.
Entries cannot be edited or deleted
That is the point of an audit. Whoever made a change cannot erase it from the history.
This is not a reservation's history
Do not mix the two up. Every reservation has its own History right in its detail - that shows its own course of events. The audit log is a cross-section of the whole website administration.
Common problems
The Audit log item has a padlock. It is part of the Standard plan and above.
I cannot see a record of a change that definitely happened. Check the filter
- most often a different area is selected.
I want to delete an entry. It cannot be done, and that is deliberate.
A colleague says they did not do it. The entry is tied to the logged-in account. If you share one login, the audit will not help you - set up a separate account for each person, see Team members and roles.
