Gallery and photos
What it is
The Gallery screen in the website administration. It holds all the photos guests will see on the website, organised into albums.
Why you need it
Photos are the first thing a guest looks at. A good gallery sells a room sooner than text does.
How to upload photos
- In the left menu open Gallery.
- If you do not have an album yet, click Create first album and name it - for example Rooms, Exterior, Surroundings.
- Select the album and drag the photos into the area, or click Choose files.
- Wait for them to upload. The system shows you the progress.
We support JPG, PNG and WebP, up to 10 MB per photo. We resize the photos automatically and convert them to WebP so the website loads quickly. You do not have to do anything.
The photo description - it is required
Every photo needs a Photo description (alt text). Photos without one show a Description missing label.
The description has two jobs: it helps guests with a visual impairment and it improves the website's position in search engines.
- Click the photo and choose Edit description.
- Briefly write what is in the photo - for example "Double room with a mountain view".
- Save. Up to 200 characters.
Order and the cover photo
- You change the order by dragging a photo.
- The first photo in an album is automatically the cover. You mark a different one with the star - Set as cover.
Albums
- New album - creates another album.
- Rename album - changes the name.
- Delete album - removes the album and all its photos. This cannot be undone.
Photo storage
At the top you see the Photo storage indicator. How much you have depends on your plan:

We warn you when you get close to the limit. When it is full, no more photos will upload until you delete old ones or move to a higher plan.
Room photos and the background video of the intro section count towards the storage too. There are details in the article Add-ons and limits.
Room photos are somewhere else
The photos of a particular room are uploaded on that room, not in the Gallery - see Rooms. They do, however, share the storage space with the gallery.
Deleting a photo
- Click the photo and choose Delete photo.
- If the photo is used somewhere as a cover, we warn you and tell you where.
- Confirm.
After deletion, the next photo in order is used automatically in those places. If none is left, a placeholder image is shown temporarily until you upload a new one.
Deletion cannot be undone.
Common problems
The photo did not upload. Check the format (JPG, PNG, WebP) and the size (max 10 MB per photo). We skip larger photos and tell you so.
I uploaded photos but there is no Gallery section on the website. The section appears only once photos are uploaded. Also check that you have it switched on in Content & design → Homepage sections.
I have run out of space. Delete old photos or move to a higher plan. Deleting the background video also helps if you are not using it - it tends to be the largest file.
The photo is rotated sideways. Upload it again rotated correctly. We do not have rotation directly in the gallery yet.
I deleted a photo and there is a placeholder image on the website. It was the last one in the album. Upload a new one.
